How to write a news feed in PHP?

Now I'm researching the issue of news feed architecture, which is simple with one table, but ...
How to make it right when adding records to various tables and structures? Tape of 15 different tables.
What is the best way to do it:
Make one table with the event log for the feed and sort by user, or make several queries to all tables?
Are there libraries available?
