I decided to learn js, and came up with the task of making a sea battle online. I can do it purely for myself and play against the computer, but how to make user interaction? And is js suitable for this at all? Or is it better to try in python or php?

On what you know how / like, but at least js for the client side.

For such simple games, javascript is ideal, but you still need to know minimal html / css.

Yes, at least make a solitaire "scarf" - so that everything fits in one html.
