How to work with the Flickr API if you are an oak-oak?

Good day. In the process of learning programming, I came up with the idea to create an application that would download random images from the Internet and display them on the screen. Flickr was chosen as a resource with pictures, which has special APIs for just such purposes. But, having opened the documentation, I realized that I couldn’t figure out what to do, and in 2 hours I didn’t move anywhere. Tell me, please, how do you get out of such situations? Or do you just have to sit and dig further? Thanks in advance for your advice.
