How to work with Less point by point?

I want to learn how to use Less. I’ll write the points on how I work with it, and if it’s not hard for anyone, please correct it:
1. I include it in the project
2. I include style.less
3. I write styles in a Less file, and then when the project is done, I compile less into css and already into I disable the less file in the working version of the project.
It is right?
