How to wake up an Android device from USB?

There is a device on Android 7.1.x. On food all the time connected (stationary PSU), sometimes sleeps (but not power off!). There are no hardware buttons on it, this is important.
Looking for a way to wake him up.
Now I'm thinking in the direction of USB. Some kind of resident program on android, which even in sleep mode does not sleep, but listens to USB. And as soon as there, say, appears on the D + 3.3 volt wire, the program immediately sees it and wakes up the device.
Rave? Realizable?
UPD: After the first comments, I realized that I did not specify the question enough. The device is a TV box. You need to attach the Wake Up button to it. By poking with a soldering iron or by assembling a simple USB device.
Accordingly, solutions with a USB connection to a computer with ADB that sends a command to wake up are redundant.

Usb does not work in gpio mode i.e. it does not directly show the status of the pins d + d-
As an option for the simplest collective farming, connect the usb-to-serial port converter and use the data transfer control ports as gpio
