How to use infrared in Android?

Good afternoon! I can’t figure out how the IR port works in the Android application. I have a device with built-in infrared (Samsung Galaxy S5), I would like to use it to send some codes to the receiver. Can you tell me how to implement sending data via IR port in an Android application? Of course, there is an option to reverse engineer an existing application of this kind, but I left it as a last resort. Thanks in advance for your reply.

But I have a hunch this won't work (50/50).
Perhaps Samsung use their "hidden" api for this.
If you can use the standard one, please let me know about it ..
