How to use databases in javascript?

In an educational institution I go through QT in C ++ and databases (I have SQlite). I understand these topics very poorly, I'm not particularly interested, but the knowledge is useful and I would like to somehow apply it in the direction that I'm studying.
In general, I’m working on the front, I’m not sure that there is a database like a junior to know, but I think it won’t be superfluous.
The question is, is it possible to use databases in native js at all, in particular this very SQlite?

native js doesn't work directly with SQlite.
JS can handle different requests from backend and the latter works with SQlite. If you do not take Node JS
