How to upload your site to GitLab?

In general, there is an unfinished site that I want to upload to GitLab so that my friend can look at the code. The profile is created, the project is created, through the command line everything is completely bad for me - I installed GitKraken. I created a commit, added files, committed it, but I can’t push it, because when I select GitLab in remote, it doesn’t show me the created project on the site where I want to upload files.
PS Through the program I logged in to GitLab, the program and the site are connected.
