How to upload an existing repository to GitHub Pages?

Hello, there is a repository created a long time ago, there is a made-up landing page. Its address is like github.com/username/projectname. How to upload this repository (the site lying there) to GitHub Pages?
I read several tutorials, they start by creating a new repo and prescribe a name in a special way. I don't want to create a new one, can I upload this one?
