How to upgrade macbook pro 13 to work in AE?

I have a macbook pro 13 2012 i5 (not retina). I use it to work in AE, I have already installed 16 GB of RAM and a 240 GB ssd from WD. Question - will the installation of an external video card speed up the work in this program?
There is no opportunity to buy an IMac, I think it's stupid to assemble a computer with your hands under a hackintosh.
