How to update the data in the table?

Good afternoon.
I am writing a crud form to be able to update records or add new ones to the table, and the question arose - how is this done correctly. Previously, I would simply collect the form data through js and send a request to some page with Ajax, where it would update / make changes to the table, but there is a feeling that this approach is not correct. Please advise how to implement this functionality correctly in yii2.
