How to update .po file for new wordpress theme version?

There is a wordpress theme without translation. While translating ru_RU.po, a new version of the theme arrived in time with an updated string file en_US.po. There are a lot of extra lines. How now to create a new file ru_RU.po without losing the previous translation? Naturally, new lines will be without translation, but this will be visible, for example, in poedit.

@choodo

Here are the details and pictures : www.stseprounof.org/how-to-renew-translation

  1. in Poedit open the current translation ru_RU.po
  2. menu item "Catalog / Update from POT file"
  3. in the file selection window, change the restriction "Templates * .POT" to "All files * . *"
  4. select the English-language file from the update
    (the author is talking about default.po, I have it en_EN.po)
  5. we get a window listing new and obsolete records
  6. close the window so that Poedit adds new entries and deletes obsolete ones
    (if some English phrase remains, but has changed, then its translation will be colored in yellow as "inaccurate")
  7. check what has changed and save the new ru_RU.po

@Dizer7

Or use a translation plugin to scan the template itself on the site.
