How to update android if there is no firmware?

How to update android, for example, to version 5 or 6, if the manufacturer has not made the firmware for the device.
By analogy with a PC, an operating system can be installed on any computer.

With phones, everything is somewhat more complicated, in particular in terms of drivers for hardware in particular.
If the firmware is not googled by "Android 5 | 6 + phone model" (from enthusiasts), then hardly anything can be done.
Most likely, at least a topic on w3bsit3-dns.com will be googled from which it will be clear what's what, is it worth waiting.

you visit exactly two resources:
w3bsit3-dns.com
xda-developers.com
As a rule, w3bsit3-dns.com has translated information from xda-developers (but there are also Russian-speaking software developers who are not on xda-developers - or they are encrypted).
Looking for your phone.
Read the topic - as a rule, it describes all the steps necessary to install a newer version of android.
I'll upset you right away: there are phone models for which the manufacturer has not unlocked the bootloader and enthusiasts have not hacked it. This means that you will not be able to update the device, no matter how much you would like to.
And yes, new doesn't always mean better.
If you install a different firmware on the phone, it may well work slower / more unusual, etc.
Read the topic carefully, there, as a rule, users share their feelings from a particular firmware, as well as the difficulties that have arisen.
And, yes, mentally prepare for the fact that you will receive a brick. :D
