well, the first thing that comes to mind is A / B testing - they made a change - they tested it. If it gets better, leave it.
Over time, you will accumulate certain experience, you will be able to predict some things in advance.
All this, of course, provided that there is something to measure the "success" of the changes.

IMHO, you can make a link to a feature and see how many visits there will be. And for now, close the feature itself with the under construction page.
