How to understand what exactly initiates requests in a MERN application?

I deployed a MERN application on the locale, the frontend and backend communicate via GraphQL + Apollo. MongoDB - on a remote server.

In the developer console, in the network activity tab, it is shown that the application is constantly doing some kind of handshakes. I'm trying to figure out how common this behavior is.

How to see what is the initiator of these requests? Could it be that these requests are needed to maintain contact with mongodb?
