How to turn off the display on Ubuntu?

The essence of the problem is that on the laptop there is a damaged cable to the matrix, from time to time the picture beats and you need to turn the display on / off to work. On Windows, fn + f7 copes with this, but on Ubuntu, this combination works a little differently (does not turn off the display at all).
The xset dpms force off command works exactly like fn and does not help.
What command can be completely disabled, similar to Windows?
