How to turn Android into a Linux distribution?

Hello!
As far as I know - Android is based on linux and the system directories are the same as in Linux distributions. How to return Linux features to Android? - you need a terminal, command applications, a repository, root rights, running linux programs. Phone Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
Thanks in advance for your replies!!!

Slightly strange answers. The terminal emulator doesn't add any linux features to Android. It is for this specific purpose that the busybox package was created. After installing and getting root, you can really install the terminal and work with Android as with regular linux. apt-get will work, and a significant part of the linux programs available in it. But you need to understand that Android is a very heavily rewritten linux, so not everything will work. But for everyday tasks, busybox is enough for the eyes

The easiest way is to put UserLAnd, it's essentially a fakeroot.
Next, you can install the distribution and connect via vnc

You won’t get a full-fledged one directly, only the kernel and some utilities have in common with android and Linux.
But you can deploy entware, in general, it has everything you need.

It's called "get root" :) and siiiiiiilly depends on the phone model and android version. Most of the "fat" manufacturers aggressively oppose rooting, the Chinese can be rooted as much as you can root the basic version of the android that is there.
For detailed information - on w3bsit3-dns.com.
Getting root is another task :)

Hello. If you only need a Linux terminal, then install TERMUX for yourself. it's almost a complete terminal, you can install non-GNU programs like vim, nmap, metasploit framework, python and more. also work with servers - ftp, sftp, ssh, etc. its shell is bash (can be changed), the commands are the same as in many linux distributions, you can create your own scripts and much more that is in all linux distributions. If you want linux with graphics then just emulate it. (in the play store try the DEBIAN NON ROOT application, it may come in handy)

Forget about it, if you need Linux - install it on a PC and don't compost your own brains :)

Android, webOS, KaiOS and GNU/Linux are united by perhaps an important, but only one small component - the Linux kernel. In all other respects they are different operating systems. Each uses its own libraries and programs. More about the difference between Linux and GNU/Linux: https://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.ru.html
You can use software virtualization to run a GNU/Linux distribution. Unlike hardware, which uses hardware emulation of another device, software does not perform such emulation and uses a common core, so such a system should be more productive and less gluttonous.
