How to translate Mysql query to Laravel?

                        ->where('author ','=', 'kipling')
                        ->where('popularity ','>', 150)...

and something like I don’t twist I don’t understand how to write "AND books.popularity - 150 < 100"

Here's an easier option than raw:
books.popularity - 150 < 100
books.popularity < 100 + 150
books.popularity < 250
