How to track the load on the database server?

Recently, a problem arose on hosting - resource usage statistics in the control panel began to show a huge load on the database server. The site itself is not very visited - up to 100 hosts and 500 hits per day. No site work has been done recently.
Tell me how you can track what exactly the load is in order to correct the situation

See slowquerylog. And in general, whatever it is, only the logs will give you an answer)

Is only the DBMS running on the server?
If yes, which one? MySQL?
If so, use mysqltop (called mytop on some distributions) and mysqltune.

1. Kick hosting support, reducing the load on the host server if it is a VDS. in their interest.
2. look at what has changed recently, maybe some plugin / widget was installed or updated, and it started to mow.
