How to test with Rspec view of non static page?

It is easy to test a static page, let's say root_path, apply capybara and see what elements are on the page.
But if the elements say blocks of text are not static and the element, the "show more" button
depends on the data available in the database.
Fill the test database with data and work as with a static database, but I think this is not very beautiful.
Or apply factories, which is correct?
