How to terminate Console.Readline when an event occurs?

JAP - C#. I am creating a console application.
Problem: the application requires the user to enter some data, respectively, the main thread is blocked. At this point, some event may occur in the application that should terminate the I/O stream from the waiting Readline. How to do it right? Thanks in advance
