How to teach your neural network different tasks?

Hello
, I have a question about how to teach a neural network complex things. I want her to be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply numbers. What do I need to do for that. I’ll say right away that I just started and still don’t understand anything about it, so I came here to learn. ?

In general, the work of neural networks is still very primitive, something like hitting the keyboard in an attempt to write war and peace, or at least some kind of coherent text. A neural network is the creation of an algorithm based on known data.
You can teach a neural network to recognize voice input, but not to understand what addition and subtraction are.
Like a child, he can say "mom", but does not understand the full meaning of this word.
So is chat bots - they see individual words and try to pick up a typical operator response for this request. Because they were taught to repeat the actions of the operator, and not to make a conscious choice. So far, there is not enough theory to create higher AI programs.

how to teach a neural network complex things. - i.e. I understand that you have already mastered "how to teach a neural network simple things"? What have you been able to teach her? I'm not asking out of mere curiosity. If you have already taught her at least something, then this means that you already know the basic principles of her work, the varieties and features of the use of neural networks, do not think that she does "know what", that "calculations" are not a task at all for neural networks, etc., etc.
But if not, then the answer is obvious: start from the beginning, that is, by reading the simplest, basic, children's books on neural networks. And you will immediately understand what needs to be done.

I want her to be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply numbers.
The addition operation "+" is the same as "you had two apples and I picked one, how many apples did you have?" That is, logic.
