How to sync with git on a new machine?

How do pro?
1) I just download the repository from github, and in the IDE I specify the path to it. All changes are fixed and I just push them.
2) Install some plugins in the IDE, specify the paths there in the settings, etc. and push / pull through the IDE and not through the terminal.

Pro chooses the option that is convenient for him and does not have a brain for others.

Integration (plugin) with IDE is certainly more convenient.
But if you, like me, use different OSes at home and at work and you need a cross-platform solution that you don’t have to look for every time where the commit button is, then take Ungit and use it with any IDE.
