How to sync contacts on android with exchange?

Synchronization of contacts from an android 5.1 phone (Lenovo phone) to MS Exchange 2010 does not work.
In the opposite direction - from exchange (contacts added via outlook 2013) to the phone - it works.
Is it even possible? Or do you need to use some separate applications for such synchronization?

When adding a contact on the phone, you need to select the Exchange account contact store (Google is the default).
