How to switch layouts in Ubuntu with displaying the current one in the center of the screen?

Tell me how to make it so that when switching the keyboard layout, not only the indicator changes, but also the process is displayed in the center of the screen.
Here's how it's done in MacOS X.

These days, monitors are big, and you have to constantly squint into the corner to understand which layout is enabled.

For Windows, our solution is by chance (judging by the post): autoit-script.ru/index.php?topic=2212.0

as an option. I use cairo-dock in it, you can set the layout indicator where it is convenient and customize it to your taste.

Etssamoe, I can recommend switching layouts by caps, because the light on the keyboard is an excellent indicator.

The Scroll-Lock indicator on the keyboard doesn't roll anymore? And in general, you can configure the "switches" of the layouts. It takes a little getting used to and just turn on the desired layout before typing.

worth digging towards notify-osd. but in general xneur can issue a popup with the name of the layout
