How to support react front with nodejs backm?

Can't figure out how to submit form from front localhost to server localhost. The client has a localhost of 3000, and the server has 3001. Constantly building the client after any edit to run it as a static file from a node is somehow strange. How can I work with node and react at the same time on localhost?
