How to stop grunt-contrib-watch from running?

I recently put together node.js + grunt.js in a project and couldn't get enough of the wonderful grunt-contrib-watch plugin. Only one thing worries me: once the plugin is running, nothing else can be written to the console. Is it possible to stop it somehow, prescribe other commands, and then start it again?

I usually run another console if I need to do something in parallel. And it's very easy to stop ctrl+C
