How to start learning Android programming?

Now I work as a freelancer and have reached a good level of PHP back-end developer.
I wanted to do development for androyd, while for the soul and self-development.
But I don't know where to start yet. Never worked with compiled code. Where to look, maybe there are some guides, tutorials for beginners. It is possible in English. I would like something relevant, so that later I would not be retrained on android 4 and higher.

I personally started here ( developer.alexanderklimov.ru/android ), very detailed and sensible.

So on the official resource for developers there are quite good tutorials, and in general the documentation is normal there.
