How to start game development?
Hello, GameDev has been asked a number of times (and I've answered similar questions many times), but since I've been developing games with Unity (on other teams) for three years, I have a different kind of question. Now I have an idea to create my own game, but I don't know where to start. What are the stages before development and programming? Are there any guides or books on this?

Well, first of all - to describe the whole idea on paper. Believe me, as long as you keep all the ideas in your head, everything seems rosy to you. As soon as you start to describe, a lot will change, something will be structured, etc. Next - sketch out the prototype of the mechanics. Without graphics - just on spherical cubes. In the process of sketching - you support the dock, give birth to the structure of the game and so on. Well, then usually the search for art, the next alterations ... Then the process itself is relatively clear, I think.
