How to start automated testing of mobile software?

I arrived in Silicon Valley, and faced such a problem.
I work for White Box Tester / I help a little in automating a mobile phone (appium, selenium, java) and a website. (selenium, java)
And I ran into the problem of choosing a language.
Python or Java?
On the one hand, I don’t really have a choice, since all the tests before me were written in Java.
On the other hand, I have some knowledge of html, css, javascript, bootstrap that I would like to apply soon and move to the Front end, but there is no time to improve them yet. And, as I understand it, Python will also come in handy in the front end.
So please tell me which language you would choose, and are there any books that you can read about Python or Java.
I'm trying to learn Java, it doesn't go after Javascript at all.
Will they ask me to automate the site? No problem.
