How to start a career in Data Science and what other promising areas does Python have?

Hello. I am a computer science student with no experience working on real projects (not counting the creation of landing pages and simple store sites, but I don’t plan to deal with the web anymore). Recently, I met a python and I really liked it. To tell the truth, I have been looking in the direction of such things as data science, ML and IoT for a long time. I know that these are all abstract concepts, so I actually decided to ask a question.
Ambition and study are certainly good, but in my understanding, a career begins when they start paying you for your work. Since I am studying in a semi-sharaga, I don’t have to count on an internship, and I guess it’s quite difficult to find a job, albeit with a diploma, but without having a set of skills for a specific field of activity and a drop of experience. Therefore, I decided to find a specific roadmap for myself based on Python, study all related tools and look for a job as a junior. I honestly tried to analyze this issue on my own, but only realized that I have no idea what DS is.
And the actual questions:
- Which areas of Data Science are most closely related to coding (and least related to consulting) and what initial positions exist in these areas.
- What other promising areas of IT related to Python are there that have a fairly high demand at the initial level?
The questions are naive, the questions are abstract. I know sorry.

Marry the offspring of a successful Data Scientist and rely on daddy's connections - this recipe works much better than others.

In DS, programming is of practical importance.
Without knowledge of ter.vera, mathematical statistics, mathematical modeling, there is nothing special to do there.
And yes - in this area they often look at a diploma, because. our universities cannot teach programming normally, but they are good at taking out the brain with a matan.
You can start your career with the classics - Fikhtengolts, Demidovich is our everything.
