How to start a career as a game developer?

Hello, I am a beginner programmer. I learned the basics, which means it's time to move on, having decided on the direction. I see game development as the most attractive direction for me. But, before jumping headlong into the pool, I would like to know the opinion of more experienced colleagues on how high the entry powder is for a beginner and, perhaps, get tips and tricks that may be useful. Thank you very much in advance.

how high is the entrance gunpowder for a beginner

As well as in other areas of programming - very few people need juniors
Do a couple of home games. If you get bored, then gamedev is definitely not for you, because working on a third-party project will most likely be even more boring - no one will ask you what you are interested in and what is not - they will tell you to do 100 "three in a row" variations and you will do .
In home projects, where you yourself choose the genre, mechanics, what to focus on is much more pleasant.
And yes, in game development there is a lot of shit code, bad management, burning deadlines and rework.
