How to stack two D-Link DGS-3100-24 switches?

There are 2 working D-Link DGS-3100-24 switches. There is a desire to combine them into a stack using an HDMI cable. Can I use 1 cable instead of 2? What is the maximum cable length? And if there are 2 cables, how to connect them - cross-to-cross or in parallel?

Only 1 cable (5Gbps) can be used. 2 will be needed to combine more than 2 devices. Usually connect the cable criss-cross, even if 1 cable.
The maximum declared length is 1 meter.
