How to stack two blocks on top of each other?

There are two blocks, one contains text, the other contains a picture in .png format
. The width of the container is 1000 pixels.
The width of a block with text is 500 pixels, a block with a picture is 600 pixels.
Can they be placed side by side? The picture is a figure of a person, so it is not painted over throughout the office.
Will only position work? and the value of top minus? (to bring it up to the text level)
The problem is that this image moves the text down when set to relative. And the text that follows the block with the picture has a large indent.
