How to speed up X11 Forwarding?
At home (in the village, far away) there was a relatively powerful computer, but connected via ADSL to the Internet. The outgoing speed is 5/8 Mbit / s when the wires do not sway ....
I would like to run programs on it (Firefox, Kate, Octave), and look at them from a netbook.
On computer debian 8 KDE (4)
On laptop LM18 mate (with delivered from Neon kde5 (which slows down))
When launched with port forwarding Octave takes a long time to load. That said, the cursor in the Octave window appears to be coming from the computer. Maybe something else comes with it.
Can something be done about it? Or is there no way to achieve more or less fast work with such a channel?
