Judging by the description, the problem is either a lack of memory or a very slow system disk. Fix the problem - and everything will work quickly.
State the characteristics of the computer.
In general, for comfortable work -
at least 8GB of memory, if there are a lot of desktops and tabs in the browser, at least 16GB
The system disk must be SSD.
The rest is to taste.
