How to specify the path to android sdk in intellij idea?

I needed a development environment for android, put intellij idea and android sdk. everything was fine, everything loaded, started. problems started when specifying the path in intellij idea to android sdk. when opening a file browser, intellij idea hangs tightly. only killing the process in the dispatcher helps. As it turned out later, the problem with this built-in file browser.
I wanted an alternative option to prescribe the path to the SDK somewhere in the config, but I did not find such a config.
In general, who can come across? if there is no solution with a file browser, then maybe he knows where to edit the config manually by specifying the path to the SDK?
