How to specify a separate domain for statics in nuxt.js?

I just can’t find or figure out: how to specify the domain for statics in the Nuxt.js project? That is, let's say the project is hosted on the example.com domain. How do I tell the project to add static.example.com to all static file urls?

If I'm not mistaken, then the publicPath property is responsible for this .
