How to solve the problem with Chrome and focus state?

The problem is that Chrome looks at buttons <button>or <input type=button>like input fields for example <input type=text>, which leads to the nasty result of a blue focus-ring on the element when it's clicked.
The element stays like this until we click on something to change focus.
How to overcome this browser behavior?
