How to solve problem installing Postgres in BigSur on Apple Silicon?
Hello.
I need to upgrade my desktop from M1 to BigSur on a new Mac. During the generally familiar actions, I ran into difficulties installing Postgres (and then MySQL) and, to be honest, I don’t quite understand how to solve them.
When trying to install Postgres via Homebrew, I got this error log, which, if you try to google it, probably means that Postgres is simply not yet somehow ready for Apple Silicon.
On the site , which logs the readiness of various software for M1,
there is no mention of Postgres, unfortunately.
Nevertheless, the community's experience in this matter is curious - maybe someone managed to solve the problem successfully? Or should we conclude that Postgres is simply not ready yet and we need to work with a remote database for now?
