How to shrink a huge transaction log file?

There is a database backup. The recovery method is simple. The size of the ldf file is already 18 gigabytes. You need to restore it on a new server, at the same time deal with such an exorbitant file. How can this be done?

I may be wrong, but ldf text format - the first thing that comes to mind - archive.
Further, as Google says ldf is a transaction log file, namely all transactions. There is an opinion that this is not necessary for backup and transfer. Try other methods of creating a backup so that without logs, pure data.
