How to show video before loading site?

There is a site on joomla. When a user enters the site, you need to show him a short video in mp4 format and then load the main page. I suppose that you can't do without Js? Or is it possible somehow through htacces? Or through some joomla plugin?

Cookie + modal.
On js, check if there is a cookie (it means you have already seen the video) if there is no cookie, then you show the modal with the video.
