How to share wifi on Ubuntu 12.04?

I recently bought an ASUS Transformer Prime TF201 tablet, but it has a difficult relationship with Wi-Fi due to the metal case. Since the apartment is large, the tablet chronically loses the network if I am far from the access point. The problem on Windows 7 was solved by installing Connectify on a laptop, which expanded the coverage.
Question: how to make such a feature on Ubuntu? I tried to create a peer-to-peer network, but when this network is activated, the main one drops, which nullifies the whole idea.

I tried to set it up for my tablet using help.ubuntu.ru/wiki/wifi_ap , but it turned out that my adapter cannot be an access point, and Android does not have ad-hoc support. As a result, I bought a wi-fi point.

The Internet comes via Wi-Fi to the laptop, and you want to share it via Wi-Fi right away? Did I understand correctly?

Use a bunch of hostapd + udhcpd, if I understand you correctly.
