How to share internet from ppoe server?
Good afternoon!
on the Internet I really can’t find a sensible explanation of how and what, maybe someone here knows.
The situation is this: the provider's modem, ubuntu server, macboock, phone, tablet, + guests
need to raise PPOE from the modem via Bridge Ubuntu server and distribute it back to the modem so that you can use the Internet via waffle.
Help with anything, links are good, hints and advice.
Thank you!

On a poor modem in any way. It is necessary to change it with an alternative firmware with linux. And then the logic is as follows:
1) on the modem we create a bridge via brctl, add the necessary interfaces to it
2) on a linux connected to it with two network cards (or with support for vlans), from the first interface we connect to pppoe, run nat, dhcp, configure routing
3) create a second bridge on the modem with wi-fi interfaces and a second connection to the server (vlan or interface)
4) tune all sorts of encryption on the modem
But if you don’t understand anything about this, it’s easier to buy a modem with port forwarding support for 1-1.5 tr
In your request, either use Vlans if the modem understands them, or use 2 network ones on the server, if the number of modem ports allows. At least tell me what kind of modem? Option 2, buy Wi-Fi to the server, distribute from it and solve the problem for $ 10.
And set up the modem, not with a bridge, but with a router and not take a steam bath? Not?
