How to setup site root and for subsites in .htaccess?

I'm building a portfolio website and I have a question.
There is a site, for example: site.ru and this is the root of the site. But along the site.ru/works path, I load folders with layouts, for example: site.ru/works/site-work, which has its own index.html file. But it still considers the most important folder as the root.
How can I automatically make the folder of the work itself the root for it?

1 thing to do is stop thinking like denver or openserver - don't forget that they generate configs when creating folders.
2. you need to create a config for each site or make them dynamic in the case of an nginx proxy
3. the documentroot parameter you are interested in DocumentRoot and not DirectoryIndex
In turn, this parameter is not reassigned via htaccess
4. create configs for each site or use the ispconfig3 vestacp web panel and their analogues .
5. If it's windows then use openserver
6. Mark as solved ;)
