How to setup proxy in OpenSUSE 13.1?

Need help setting up a proxy. Before that, I did not encounter a proxy at all. On a working machine under Windows, everything is set up and working fine, but for some reason it doesn’t want to work on a personal laptop in SUSE.
I drive the settings into Yast, but the check gives an error that the server cannot recognize it.
I tried to make settings in /etc/sysconfig/proxy but it does not help either.
Can anyone help?
