How to setup Apache 2 for PHP 7.2 on KDE Neon 5.14/Ubuntu 18.04?
Briefly and to the point: when activating the php7.2 module for apache2 on KDE neon 5.14, the OS displays an error about the conflict between the versions of php 5 and php 7.2, despite the fact that version 5 is not installed from the word at all. And never stood. This "incompatibility" is expressed, according to subjective assumptions, in a conflict between mpm_prefork and mpm_event/mpm_worker (in fact, this is indicated in the message). Repeated attempts were made to completely reinstall all components, but this did not lead to positive results, as did experiments with the mpm_ * modules. This is the first time I've encountered something like this and I haven't found a good solution. The screenshot is shown below .
PS: a question has already been posted on toster regarding this problem, but the "install php5.6" solution is not my case, I need the seventh version.

In general, to my surprise, the solution turned out to be quite simple - install via sudo apt-get install php , thereby allowing the OS to independently pull up all dependencies, including apache2. Oddly enough, this was the only way that got me to a working configuration.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
