How to set up xdebug + phpstorm on a remote server?

Please help me with the setup. I don't know what to do anymore. Doesn't work xdebug on a remote server, or rather I don't know if it works. Configured in phpstorm, validation passes., mapping, deploy, everything is fine. And there is no reaction to breakpoints. The same site on local xampp, catches. I was also busy and tried to forward the port through ssh (although I'm a noob at this). I already tried to mount the remote to my Windows, or debug it locally (steps of desperation). Stubbornly does not catch anything. I think maybe xdebug is not working. How can I check that xdebug sends something to 9000 when the page is loaded? And in general, what to do, rummaged everything.
