How to set up wireless WDS bridge on ASUS?
Hello!
Help me understand where I'm stupid, otherwise I've already broken my whole head.
The next task needs to be done with the help of two Asus routers, a greater coverage of the wireless communication zone.
One Asus set up as a regular router and I want to connect a second router to it via Wifi using WDS technology (wireless bridge). so that people can sit quietly on the second router and via wifi and can easily connect devices via LAN.
I have already tried all the options, but I still can’t raise the bridge, on the leading router it does not appear in the list of connected devices. (here is the WDS setup https://yadi.sk/i/PehRVdn0KTKSUw )
questions follow from here:
1) in which mode should the slave router be configured for the wireless bridge? (like a wireless router, AP or what?)
2) what kind of encryption and authentication do you need?
3) should the SSiD name be the same?
4) Does the channel number matter?
Or am I misunderstanding the wireless bridge technology?

Well, WDS is not the best technology for that. The channel must be permanent. It’s easier to configure one router as a regular router with an AP,
but the second router is in repeater mode with a disabled DHCP server and with the same SSID as the first router (having previously registered statics to the second router, so that later you can break into the web face in case something happens.
Users connected to router 2 will get network addresses from router 1. All users will be in the same broadcast domain.
