How to set up Wi-Fi on a laptop with elementary OS without the ability to connect to the Internet?
ASUS X543BA-DM624 laptop, Realtek RTL8821CE Wi-Fi module.
Once installed in elementary OS, you can't connect to Wi-Fi. The laptop does not have an Ethernet connector, distributing the Internet from the phone via Bluetooth or via USB is also not an option, because the laptop unsuccessfully tries to connect to it - I tried it both with iPhone and Android. Therefore, writing "sudo apt install rtl8821ce-dkms" did not work. I launched the Live CD of elementary OS from a flash drive and wrote "sudo apt install dkms" there, and lo and behold, it turns out that the system image has all the necessary packages with dependencies. I looked at what packages the Live CD installs and in what order, then I pulled the .deb files from the image onto a USB flash drive, and installed them manually in the system on the disk in the same order. Next, I installed the .deb file of the wi-fi driver downloaded from the Internet, and also followed the steps from the tomaspinho instructions from GitHub. Started rebooting the laptop - the screen went out, but the laptop stayed on. It turned out to turn off only by pressing the Power key. After turning on the Wi-Fi worked, and I already breathed a sigh of relief, but when I turned on the laptop the next morning ... Wi-Fi was gone again. To be honest, I don't know what to do next.
Do not judge strictly and please help me figure it out, thanks in advance.
